Monthly Mind Power Questions & Answers

Q I was wondering whether Mr. Kehoe will be writing a book completely focused on the subconscious mind? And if so, when is it going to be published and released to the general public?

Dublin, Ohio

A Ah... so many books to write. I have written five books, all of which are available on this website. My most recent is Mind Power for Children. Usually, after I write a book, I don't think about the next book for at least six months, and then ideas start coming on what the next one should be. I will definitely be writing a book focused on the subconscious, as I have lots of material and experience on this topic, but I don't think it will be my next book. Firstly because there are still other areas I'm exploring, and secondly, after writing five non-fiction books, I'm looking forward to making my next book fictional.

I have a great idea for a fable encompassing many great truths, but using the vehicle of fiction to convey the message. Should be fun.

Q If my goal is to get a career in a particular field, can I use the affirmation "I will get the career I want" for ten minutes a day for sixty to ninety days? I know this is only one exercise, but would it work or bring me closer to my goal?

Somerville, MA

A Affirmations are very powerful and can even by themselves manifest your reality, as you know if you're a regular reader of my books and website. I advise using many mind power methods, but if you want to use only affirmations here is my suggestion. Don't use just one affirmation. Have at least two or three different ones that propel you towards your goal. That way you can use whichever one feels right at any given moment. Also, feel free to change your affirmations week by week, incorporating new ideas and concepts. The one you've chosen is a very general, all encompassing affirmation, which is fine, but you can use other more specific ones too. If affirmations are going to be your only method then you must be creative with them.

Q Is it possible to help others work through their fears using mind power?

Wellington, New Zealand

A The images we have of others help them to actualize their potentials. It is a good habit to always believe in and project the best for others.

Having said this, each person must work out their own problems and fears for themselves. You can help them by loving them, encouraging them, advising them, introducing them to mind power and just by being a good friend. All these things help, but ultimately each person must do the necessary inner work themselves to combat fear.

Fortunately mind power works well to turn fears into positive expectations.

Q While I fully believe in the power of the mind, I also find myself fearing it, and realizing I have more negative thoughts than positive ones. How do I dispense with negatives? I've found that doing positive affirmations only seems to strengthen the negatives. What am I doing wrong? Also, how can I conquer my fear of death?

New Zealand

A It is not unnatural to fear the mind, or for negatives to have more power than positives, especially if you have not been regularly working with Mind Powers. It's like trying to go to the gym for the first time and finding that, much to your horror, you can hardly do anything at all. It's the same thing with Mind Power. If you check our past topics of the month, you will notice that there's one on eliminating negatives. The suggestions and techniques in that particular topic will help you immensely. All the best.

Q It seems that the Universe actually rewards those who cheat others, cheat on their taxes etc. etc. Please explain this apparent paradox.

Toronto, Canada

A There is no paradox at all. You can be quite assured that the universe knows exactly what it is doing. And while it might seem on the surface that in some circumstances people who cheat or do other dishonest things do indeed prosper, I can assure you that is only on the surface.

We are multidimensional. We live in many dimensions simultaneously - the physical, the spiritual, the emotional, and the mental. And all these faculties, all these worlds and dimensions, influence and affect us in different ways. So while a person who cheats another person might indeed seem to prosper on the material and the physical level, we do not know what has been done to that person's soul, to his psyche, to his conscience. Nor do we know the karma that has been incurred as a result of that event.

So the universe knows exactly what it's doing, and that's why people who know and understand this always live their lives with the highest integrity.

Q My whole life I have been shy and blush very quickly in the presence of people, often people more senior than myself, e.g. bosses, pastors, more often men than women. I have read your book, Mind Power, and started the training a week ago. Is there anything I should focus on in particular? I'm a 33-year-old female.

Boksburg, South-Africa

A I'm glad you have the Mind Power book. It gives you all the techniques and methods you require. I will remind you, as well as all our readers, that mind power is a practice not a philosophy. Knowledge does not apply itself. You must do it.

I would set for myself the goal of being comfortable around people. Why shouldn't you be? Lots of people are and they aren't any smarter or better than you are. As you practice the techniques, you will begin to see that you do in fact feel more comfortable with people. This will lead to increased confidence, and the next thing you know your goal will be a reality. Acknowledge yourself daily for all your positive qualities and for every step towards your goal, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. I expect great and wondrous things will happen for you.

Q I have been doing men's groups for 10 years. I really enjoy my work but find it difficult to "educate" others in the concepts you and I believe in. What techniques do you use in introducing your ideas without "turning Off" your audience before you get to the substance?
Tampa, Florida

A Don't tell people about the concepts. Demonstrate them. I learned this a long time ago. Some people are ready to hear it and some are not. If people are receptive then great but nothing speaks louder than how you are changing and growing. When people see you change and the benefits you receive from it they'll want to know more. You'll then have a receptive audience. And if they don't see changes in you what do you have to tell them? It's probably still theory and concept to you. Demonstrate it. Nothing is more powerful.

Q I really enjoy my work but find it difficult to "educate" others in the concepts you and I believe in. What techniques do you use in introducing your ideas without "turning off" your audience before you get to the substance?
Tampa, Florida

A I learned a long time ago that people are either ready to hear it or they're not. While you might be able to convince a skeptic with a lot of talk, it's a thankless task. Far better to share with people who are interested. When you're with others, put out feelers, casually mentioning the topic. If they're interested you'll know. Books are a great way to introduce a person to a new topic. Why reinvent the wheel if it's been explained well in a book? Ultimately though I always like to say - Demonstrate the power of these beliefs and that will be the greatest education you can give. Your success helps many people; your failure helps no one. Share and educate with your own success and personal demonstrations of these principles.

Q If a person commits a murder, for example, and does not get caught, does he
pay for his crime? Often it seems that the family of the victim seems to suffer more than the perpetrator. Does the universe have some sort of natural balance?

London, England

A No act is without its consequence. How the universe works is very mysterious, and even the wisest, most awakened person gets only glimpses of its complexity.

However, Karma is real and at work in all our lives. Those who commit either good or evil deeds will experience the Karmic effects. The murderer may not be apprehended by the law, but that act will forever be stamped upon his being, and he will carry it with him perpetually, with all its consequences.

Q I am trying to figure out something special by mind power. I have a strong imagination, and feel I can have a muscular and well-built physique by using my mind power. Please guide me.

Islamabad

Pakistan

A A strong imagination is a wonderful attribute. Now you must learn to direct it. The body is very receptive to the thoughts and images we have of it. If you chose to have a muscular and well-built physique, you can use mind power techniques to achieve this. A regular workout at the gym using weights, or any exercise where you work the muscles will help to build the body you desire.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a vocal advocate of mind power, and in my chapter on visualization (Mind Power into the 21st Century) he describes how he used these techniques to become Mr. Universe.

Bodybuilding and mind power have always had a close relationship, and mind power is used by most athletes competing at a professional level.
