Monthly Mind Power Questions & Answers

June 2003

Q What is the scientific, or even philosophical basis of your doctrine and teachings?
Florida, USA

A Without going into specific details, time, places, people, teachers, or books that I have read or studied with, let me simply say that for over twenty-five years I have studied extensively quantum physics, psychology, mysticism, shamanism, different religions, positive thinking, and all aspects of the human psyche and mind. From this study I have formulated a system of Mind Powers which is based on the premise that thoughts are real forces. Over the twenty-five years I have proved to myself undisputedly that images that we hold within our mind tend to manifest in our life. So the whole goal of teaching Mind Power is to give the student methods and ways by which he or she can begin to harness the tremendous powers of their mind by working with images and beliefs within their consciousness, vibrating with that energy and then attracting to themselves the circumstances and situations that they desire.

I must say that this work has been a passion of mine for the past twenty-five years, and now I'm moving into a new and exciting area, and that is the area of the subconscious. Over the next year or so, at this website, you will be able to see some of my new discoveries on the subconscious, as I will pass on to my students, both through my books, tapes, videos and this website, all the knowledge that I have, and from this I hope that you are gaining benefit.

You might also notice that at the end of Mind Power Into the Twenty-First Century, I have provided a suggested reading list, in other words a list of books that I have found useful in understanding the powers of the mind.

Q I bought the "Creating an Abundance of Money" affirmation tape a while ago and I am just wondering how to get the most from it. Currently I repeat all affirmations on the tape once in the morning and again in the evening when driving my car. I wonder whether I should be repeating all of them, and if so for how long each, or whether I should concentrate on only a few of them. Many thanks for your help with this. By the way, your website is still the best of its ilk by a long way and very helpful to me.

A I'm so happy that you have the "Creating an Abundance of Money" tape. These tapes were created to give the Mind Power student an easy and effective way to manifest in their life what it is that the tape is suggesting. These are 12-minute tapes, and on the affirmation side of the tape, you have eight affirmations. With each affirmation I repeat it once and then you repeat it. I repeat it, and then you repeat it. I repeat it and then you repeat it. So what's happening is that for one and a half minutes you are listening to me say the affirmation, and then you say the affirmation to yourself. Then you go on to the second affirmation and then the third and so on. Once the 12-minute tape has been played it is not necessary to replay it, nor is it necessary to say these things to yourself when you're not playing the tape. However, certain of the affirmations will really inflame and inspire you, and you will want to say them over again to yourself throughout the day. So whichever ones feel natural to say, allow yourself to say them and repeat them to yourself. They will only add to the power. However, just doing the exercise for the twelve minutes while you're playing the tape will be sufficient. All the success with it.

Q What if your partner does not believe in any of this? What if you think abundance and he thinks lack? Wouldn't this cancel out all your efforts?
Bellevue, Washington

A It's frustrating when your partner does not believe what you believe, and in fact has contrary goals. It can be a real problem with your partnership, but ultimately it is what you believe that counts. If you continue to do your exercises faithfully, you will begin to manifest your goals. One of three things will happen:

1. You will manifest abundance even though your husband thinks scarcity.

2. Your husband will change his thinking, as he sees you change. Yes, it happens all the time.

3. You will let your husband's negativity overwhelm you and begin to think like he does. But remember, no one but you will ultimately determine what happens in your life.

Q I am new to Mind Power. I want to know, from your experience, if one partner diligently practising it can improve the quality of a marriage relationship?

Johannesburg, South Africa

A Absolutely. A marriage or partnership consists of two individuals. When one person changes, that changes the whole dynamic of the relationship. Everything changes - your actions, your attitude, your perspective, your choices, your ability to communicate what you feel and see. The daily practice of Mind Power will have a profound influence in your marriage. Sometimes your partner will notice what is happening and want to join in. Other times there might be some initial resistance. But if it helps and deepens the relationship, who can honestly be against it? Also, in a relationship, it often takes one person to seize the initiative. Congratulations on your decision to do so.

Q My question is quite simple. How can we gain concentration, and is it true that if someone hopes to be an achiever in the future, is strong determination and willpower enough to achieve that goal? Also, to what extent does a positive approach play a role in personality development?

Rawalpindi, Pakistan

A You've asked three questions so I'll give you three quick answers. Firstly, concentration is developed by practicing Mind Power techniques. The more you discipline the mind, the greater your ability to concentrate. One of the benefits of practicing Mind Power is it naturally develops your concentration. The answer to your second question is that strong determination and willpower combined with the power of your thoughts is the key to your future success.

Thirdly, our personality has its roots in our self-image. Our self-image is in turn created by the thoughts we consistently think about ourselves. A positive self-image will create a positive personality. As you can see, the two are very connected to each other.

Continue to explore and practice Mind Power and it will serve you well.

Q We would like to win our National Lottery. Would it be possible to achieve this by using Mind Power techniques. What would be the best way?

Tzaneen, South Africa

A Probably not. Everyone wants to win the lottery. Millions of people wish, hope, pray and use mind power for it to happen. It is not a good goal to choose. Better to win the lottery of life, which everyone can do when they are happy and successful.

Use another goal for being successful and happy. Attract those circumstances to you with your mind power. Then if the lottery happens, it is a bonus.

Q What is your view about God? Do you believe in God and the hereafter?

United Kingdom

A The Zen teacher Alan Watts had a great answer when someone asked him if he believed in God. His answer was, "If you believe in God, I don't. And if you don't, I do." He wasn't being confrontational but rather expressing how different our concepts of God are. We are unlikely to believe in the same God, each of us projecting our beliefs and assumptions on to it.

The hereafter is another matter. I believe in the hereafter, and the hereafter after that one. I believe in the past and I believe in the present.

The present is always our point of power. Get that one right and all else looks after itself.
