Q I have trouble visualizing clear images in my mind. How can I develop this ability?
Kelowna, British Columbia
A Lots of people have difficulty in visualizing clear images, especially at first. You will find that with practice and repetition it will get easier. Also you don't have to imagine picture-perfect images like a TV screen. Even just "thinking about" your visualization in a relaxed way, without trying to force it, is effective.
Q How important a part does planning play in achieving goals? I have read that as long as you commit yourself to achieving the goal, the rest will fall into place and you should not spend too much time on HOW. Yet many others seem to say you must have a plan, otherwise it is little more than an idle wish. How has this worked for you? Many thanks for your time and help.
England
A As you do your mind power techniques regularly, you do not have to concern yourself with HOW. HOW is very often not known in the beginning. Opportunities open up when you open up your thoughts. You will be amazed and thrilled when circumstances and situations begin changing all around you as your work with your thoughts.
Obviously you will eventually need a plan and have to execute actions to achieve your goals, but first and foremost come the thoughts. Work diligently in the inner world and effective means of achieving your goal will naturally come to you.

Q How can mind power help me through my confusion on selecting the right path for my life?
New York, USA
A Your subconscious mind knows and understands the paths available to you and which destinies are most suitable for you. Notice I use the plural paths and destinies. There is no single and perfect path. There are many that are suitable for you and many that are unsuitable. Often when we try and figure this out logically we only get confused. But your subconscious knows, so go to it for the answer. Trust your instincts and hunches. You can begin to program your subconscious to bring answers to you. Start affirming to yourself, "I know the right path for my life." This will soon get the subconscious working for you.
Q I need to work on changing my beliefs around money and career. I loved what I did for the last year; now I am unemployed again and searching. I can't seem to stay in work, and yet I fear being unemployed. As well, I made great money but spent it badly, and now I am in poverty again. I have been using visualization, seeding, affirmations and even looking at past results in my life. It has been almost four months with little results. Is it because I am focused on too much at one time? Do I need a different affirmation?
North Bay, Ontario
A Focusing on past events in your life where you have gone wrong or made poor decisions only reinforces that negative energy within you and helps you to recreate the exact things you are trying to avoid. This month's topic is on beliefs about money. It should help. Regarding your fear. Fear is a powerful attracting force that will create exactly what you fear. Whenever you find yourself focusing on your fear, realize what you are doing and then sweep it aside. In its place put the exact opposite images of what you fear. Do this for 3 or 4 minutes and whenever the fear arises repeat this process. The fear vision must not be allowed to dominate your consciousness.
Q I have a really big mental block that has to do with my weight. People tell me I'm not fat, but somehow I believe that I am. This thought is somehow imprinted in my mind. I eat healthy food, I exercise, but I don't look the way I'd like to. I know you're not Jenny Craig, but I think this is some sort of mental problem here. I've done visualization and seeding techniques and they haven't seemed to help. This problem is getting much worse; I've been obsessing over it for some time. I'm really in need of some direction.
Kennewick, WA
A This is a very common issue and problem for individuals trying to stay healthy and fit. Our media and culture bombard us with images of models and superstars who seem "perfect" in every way. Very few of us match these neurotic ideals. Further to this, you have skin-and-bone anorexics who starve themselves because they feel they are too fat when they very obviously aren't. Others push themselves unmercifully into eating programs and exercise regimes that take all the fun out of life. It's a real problem in our society.
I suggest a different strategy. Love your body, accept your body, nourish your body with positive thoughts. Every day say something positive to yourself about your body. Find things you like about your body. This does not mean you don't continue to watch what you eat, exercise and become fit, but you do it in a more relaxed way. Your body will respond much more to this approach.
Once you come into a new relationship with your body you can also combine the usual Mind Power techniques, such as, visualization, affirmations, acknowledging etc.
All the best.
Q I was wondering where I would go on or off the Net to get the info needed to strengthen the mind. I don't just mean to make it smarter, but to possibly control it. If life is an art, and it takes faith, love and courage, then is it possible that with understanding, you can change things within yourself?
Anderson, Indiana
A This is such a strange question that I almost didn't answer it, but then I thought again that maybe it gives me an opportunity to make a point. It reminds me of someone going to a church and asking the minister, "Tell me where can I find a place that will teach me about religion?" His answer would probably be, "Why not try here?" Likewise my answer is "Why not try here?" This website is designed to assist students in their pursuit of developing Mind Power. Not only are there Topics of the Month and Questions and Answers and a huge list of past Topics and Questions and Answers, but there are also excellent books and CD's available on the product page for those who wish to pursue this interest.
Once again, let me remind you and my viewers that Mind Power is a practice, not a philosophy, and you get out of it exactly what you put into it. Practice regularly and you will see excellent results.
