Q You provide a few examples from the bible in your book, Mind Power. What are your beliefs in regards to religion and, more specifically, prayer.
Regina, Saskatchewan
A I have studied all the major religions and have benefited immensely from the wisdom they contain. I am a spiritual person but not a religious person, in that I belong to no one specific religion but drink from many sources. Regarding your question on prayer: prayer and Mind Power are more or less synonymous. I believe absolutely in prayer when one prays correctly. (See the above question.) There have been numerous studies on the effectiveness of prayer in healing. Dr. Larry Dossey has done excellent work in this field and his books are filled with examples. Many times I have been invited to speak at churches, explaining how to pray effectively. Two things to remember about prayer:
1. Be diligent and pray daily.
2. Pray with the feeling that you already have what you want.
Mind Power does not contradict religion and prayer. It can and should deepen your faith and effectiveness in using it.
Q I have been searching a friend for a long time. Maybe you can help me locate him by communicating with him through the power of the mind. I hope you can teach me on how to use the power of the mind.
Davao City, Phillipines
A Telepathy works because consciousness is all one, and we are all connected to the larger consciousness of our race. But telepathy does not necessarily work every single time. However, since it does in fact work sometimes, you've got absolutely nothing to lose, and everything to gain, by trying. Using Mind Power techniques (I will assume you've read Mind Power Into the 21st Century) visualize yourself with your friend. Also use affirmations to assert that you will meet each other. Using the techniques for contacting the subconscious, try to imagine and feel where he might be. Using your intuition, travel to where he might or could be. Maybe your dreams will tell you something. Start programming your mind to meet your friend and you set that reality into motion.
