Monthly Mind Power Questions & Answers

August 2005

Q Hello! I would like to share the progress that I have made since first hearing you speak in San Francisco last September. When my husband David and I went to hear the lecture, I was working as an administrative assistant at a local university. I had a history of working in offices and have never particularly liked the work, but lacked focus and the confidence in myself to do anything else. In the year since hearing the lecture, I have read Mind Power, done affirmations and created my own affirmation tapes (modeled on yours). Last February I was able to quit the office job and I now have a full practice as a massage therapist. I am earning more money than I have ever earned before in my life and I am fully engaged and focused on my work. I wanted to thank you and let you know about the changes you helped to birth in me. Also, one question: Recently I've started to incorporate Religious Science prayer treatments into my daily practice, and also into the massage therapy sessions. I notice that my massage work is more effective on people when I use prayer treatments. Do you have any comments or ideas about Religious Science?

A Congratulations on your success. You have not only succeeded but you are now a role model for others. "Your success helps many people your failure helps no one," is a true maxim. By posting your message you have made it possible for people to read it and be inspired. I don't know a lot about Religious Science, but using prayer is exactly the same as using Mind Power. There are numerous studies on the power of prayer. One interesting factor that revealed itself in one of the studies is that it doesn't seem to matter how you pray. Hopi Indians, Christians, Buddhists, Muslims all obtain excellent results. Any healing work will be more effective if combined with prayer or Mind Power. Keep experimenting and adding more to your treatment. You're definitely on the right track. What a dynamo you are! Keep up the good work.

Q Is it ok to feel depressed sometimes? Or will this still attract negatives into your life? What do you believe about regret? I am now regretting a lot of things about my childhood. Mostly not learning what I need to know now. I find myself sometimes wishing my life was different, more like others that have made it in my industry

San Francisco CA

A It is perfectly okay to feel depressed sometimes. It would be strange to be happy every moment of every day. In fact a good afternoon of depression, wallowing in all your misery, can do the world of good. Why not really get into it and purge yourself?

All of us have regrets. Nobody lives a perfect life. However, there is no point in dwelling on something that happened in the past. I would suggest making peace with the past, forgiving yourself and others for decisions made and actions taken. Begin living for today and tomorrow.

Today is the womb through which the future emerges. You didn't mention your age but unless you are eighty or ninety there is lots you can still do with your life. I'm celebrating my fifty-fifth birthday on February 24th and am incredibly excited about the possibilities of the next twenty years.

So let go of the past and move ahead with a powerful vision of the new life you can create with your thoughts and actions today.

Q Logically I know that I should be going after my dreams with everything I've got, but I am not. How can I intensify my desire for my dream? Logically I want it but I just don't have that motivated feeling to go out full force to achieve it. It doesn't make sense to me. This is what I want the most, so why don't I have that driving force, that feeling pulling me close to my dreams? Napoleon Hill says that we should have a burning desire. I'm sure we aren't born with that burning desire for something. It's as if my mind is working to keep me average.

This is my greatest struggle, just motivating myself to go out and do it, knowing logically that I should be doing it, but not feeling that strong desire for it.

A Logic is only way of making decisions. You have to trust your feelings and intuition as well. When logic and intuition contradict, I almost always go with my intuition. Why? Because our intuition has access to our subconscious and, as such, "knows" more than simple logic. Interestingly enough, you have used the word "logically" three times in your short e-mail. This is revealing, and what is sometimes referred to as a Freudian slip.

Q I am very glad that I came upon your website. I am a college student and have been on the road to self-realization for a while now. I have felt many wonderful types of energy all my life, many different frequencies of energy. I just decided to investigate them further three years ago. I also came to the conclusion at a very young age that all is energy and we can control what we think and how we feel by looking into our thought patterns closely. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading your material, and it feels good to know of others on the same path. Maybe sooner than we think more people will come to a deeper understanding of how much they really are in control.

A Thanks for your observation and thoughts. You are very fortunate to learn this at such a young age. We are all masters of our destiny when we learn to control our thoughts.
