Q Hello John. I want to ask about death. I agree that negative thinking continued over a long time may bring premature death. But can positive thinking save us from premature or untimely death? Especially I want to ask about those people who die in accidents. Have they been thinking negatively at that instant or over a period of time? What I mean to say is does death also follow the law of cause and effect, or would we have to say that the universe has its own ways of functioning in the case of death?
India
A The ways of the universe are quite often beyond our comprehension, and when somebody dies, especially when they die prematurely, does this mean that they were thinking of dying? No, it does not necessarily mean that at all. These things have their own dynamics which are, as I say, beyond what we understand.
However, having said that, there are numerous examples of people who brought on the worst for themselves, just as you suggest. For example, one of my students reported that his father had always said, "You're old man is never going to see fifty, your old man is never going to see fifty." And lo and behold, although in perfect health, one week before his fiftieth birthday he died. In that particular case I think you can see that he had programmed himself to die by the time he was fifty. But simply thinking about death is not necessarily going to bring death on. It's regular programming of the mind that is always going to have an effect. That is why I suggest that you always program your mind to see yourself as healthy and living a long and vibrant life.
Q I have just finished a book that says we choose our death and a blueprint for our lives before we are born. If this is the case, can we use Mind Power techniques to change this?
Johannesburg, South Africa
A It's hard to tell what happens before we're born and what happens after we die. There are lots of theories, lots of speculation, and lots of different beliefs, but none of us know absolutely for sure; all we know is what happens to us in this life. And we can be quite assured that Mind Power does influence and affect the things that happen to us.
Now this does not necessarily negate the fact that, within the theory of choosing one's death and a blueprint for one's life, if indeed this was true, within that parameter one can still influence and affect the things that happen to you. So while I don't have any answers on this particular theory of yours, although I know it well, I most definitely know that Mind Powers influence the things that happen to us.
Q I just don't understand. When I started reading your book I was excited and for a week and a half I had positive thoughts racing through my head. I had fantastic visualizations and I felt like a new person. This week, however, I am totally depressed and my mind is negative and even though I am trying to think positively, my brain is saying, "It won't work," "It is not going to happen," "You are useless." I am almost suicidal. It is digging away at me so thoroughly. What have I done wrong? Are my visualizations and affirmations not right for me? Is my heart telling my head what to do?

A What you're going through is not that unusual. It is a natural reaction to working with Mind Powers. What happens quite often in the beginning stages is that we are intoxicated and excited with the new processes, and we become very inspired and enthused. However, old thinking habits and problems can begin resurfacing, especially if you have only been reading the book and haphazardly doing the techniques.
What I suggest that you do is to first of all read the Topic of the Month on eliminating negatives. It will assist you immensely. Also set up a daily program for yourself, where you actually work with the techniques for maybe ten or fifteen minutes a day. It is not enough to just read the book, and it is not enough just to have positive thoughts racing around in your head whenever they come. One must actually apply the techniques methodically, persistently and daily.
And of course, one has up days and one has down days. One does not necessarily take off like a rocket. What you're going through is what I commonly refer to as a dry period, a period where nothing seems to be working. These negative thoughts are the only thoughts going through your head. Always remember: it has nothing to do with your reality, only your own personal thoughts. You are now in the process of changing and managing your thoughts. So keep with it and you will move through this phase.
Q I would just like too say thank you for delivering my order to me asap last month, before I left the country. I have received a tremendous amount of knowledge and wisdom from Money Success & You. It has been a tremendous blessing and I have achieved an amazing amount of breakthroughs.
A Thank you very much for giving us this positive feedback. I love to hear from my readers about the success that they have had. And although you have not been specific, it sounds like you have had great results in the financial area working with the material, and this thrills me. All the books, tapes, and videos that I produce are there for one reason, and that's to get results. And the same is true with my courses. I'm very, very big on results. Our success helps many people; our failure helps nobody. It is our duty and responsibility to succeed. Congratulations and all the best in the future.
Q I just bought your tape on health and healing. I am wondering how you spell "crillian photography," the photography that takes a picture of your energy field.
Squamish, British Columbia
A The spelling is Kirilian. It is named after a Russian who was an amateur photographer and physicist. Using high-speed frequencies he invented, by chance, a camera process that can record the energy field that surrounds us. Science has known for some time that the body has this energy field but no one was ever able to see it until he developed this process.
Q I happened to read a book, "100% Mind Power" in my middle 20s. I was excited about knowing the facts about our mind for a few days. Fifteen years later I've read the book, "Think and Grow Rich" and again I'm excited about the facts.
Five years ago I practiced meditation for three months and then stopped. My problem is I'm convinced at the time of the facts stated in the books and meditation techniques, but in the rush of everyday life, I'm not able to concentrate on the effort.
I'd be grateful to you if you could suggest a way that would encourage persistence in my efforts.

A You're not alone in this situation. In fact it is probably the number one problem which people interested in Mind Power face: how to move from concept into daily practice. One hundred percent of the people reading this website believe in the power of the mind. If not, why would you waste your time here? However, in our busy lives we can't seem to find the time to do the twenty minutes a day that would transform our lives. Why? Inertia, failure to truly grasp how powerful these techniques are, and laziness. I hope I'm not being too harsh, but something or someone has to shake us out of our procrastination and into action.
I suggest you read the last three month's topics of the month and resolve to let nothing stop you from creating a new and exciting life for yourself.
Q Not a question, just a success story. About three years ago I realised the 12-year marriage I was in was not a happy one for me. I'd read your book Mind Power into the 21st Century and used the techniques to help dissolve my marriage, but still remain friends with my husband. Even though it was very sad at the time for both of us, the separation went very smoothly and I was so pleased mind power had worked for me.
Now the best bit - I then used the techniques I'd learnt from your book to visualize my perfect mate. I wrote down everything I wanted to find in a man, and affirmed the following twice daily, "Divine Love will lead me to, and maintain me in, a loving relationship with my perfect mate" (Louise Hay). Six months after my separation I met a man who matched everything on my list. To top it off, he had been practising mind power too, and I was everything he had listed. Amazingly, we have been living in the same suburb for several years, but didn't ever meet until one day five months ago.
So thank you, thank you, for imparting your knowledge and techniques regarding mind power. It just keeps getting better and better.

A Thank you for sharing your story.
Q I feel like I'm just "going with the flow" in life, and that nothing really bugs me that much. I use this to my advantage in many situations, but sometimes it feels like I'm getting behind in life. Should I maybe change my view, even if it seems impossible?
Nigel, South Africa
A There is a time to reap and a time to sow. The tides of the ocean ebb and flow. Sometimes it is high tide and sometimes low. The cycle of the moon goes through many phases, and so do we. Sometimes it is right and appropriate to "go with the flow" and just enjoy what is happening in your life. Other times call for action and change.
It is the wise person who recognizes the different phases and cycles in ourselves. "Should I change my view?" you ask. I don't know; what do you think? Only you know. And nothing is impossible when you believe. Remember the quote, "Whatever a man can conceive and believe, he can achieve." Napoleon Hill
Look within and act upon what you find.
