Monthly Mind Power Questions & Answers

Q I've been trying to visualize every night and every morning for a month. When I close my eyes and relax, I always fall asleep soon, so I cannot visualize well. What should I do?
Osaka, Japan

A Try doing your exercises sitting on a chair or even standing or walking. If you're lying down and tired it is very easy to fall sleep. You might be interested to know that the book is selling very well in Japan. I received a copy of the Japanese translation, but I'm of course unable to read or speak Japanese. Nevertheless, it's great hearing from my Japanese readers. I have a question that maybe you can help me with. One of the illustrations in the book has a Japanese businessman wearing a hard hat, holding a giant question mark and climbing over abandoned TV sets and computers. I am curious how this relates to Mind Power and what the reference is trying to illustrate. Please let me know.

Q When I have completed my 90-day program, do I start with new goals, or carry
on with the ones I was doing until they are achieved completely?

Johannesburg, South Africa

A Having completed your ninety-day program you should first acknowledge and congratulate yourself. Very few people are able to do the exercises every day for ninety days. There are usually many false starts before a full ninety-day program is completed, and this accomplishment should go on your acknowledging list. You have passed an important test.

Now it is time for reflection and analysis. What was achieved? What remains to be achieved? In your question, I see the word "completely." That indicates to me that you have seen good results but that your goals are not completely manifested.

Give yourself a one- or two-week break and begin again a second ninety-day period, continuing until you have fully manifested what you're working on.

Q I'm from India, a country where we believe that mind control or meditation is for peace of mind. We relate this thing to spirituality, a path to finding God. Now could we use this to get direct benefits like money, health etc? As I am practising meditation for the past few years, I just concentrate on the religious word OM. I never create any picture or other quotation in my mind. Please guide me to use this for my betterment.

Chandigarh, India

A What you're doing is absolutely correct. The mind can be used in many ways for many different objectives. Meditation for peace of mind is one very important method. Mind Power for manifestation of goals is another. You may use both methods at separate times in your day. Why not explore and practice both methods?
