Learn Mind Power - Questions & Answers

September 2008

Q:

Hey there John, is it belief that allows one to create and be helped? Do you essentially have to believe to receive, and even to take it one step further and ask? I would love your thoughts.

A:

You do not have to believe something first before you receive it. Our thoughts are powerful vortexes of energy and work by themselves to create. What you will find is that, as you pratice Mind Power exercises and the energy builds, you will naturally come to believe what you are projecting. However, in the beginning this belief is more of a hope than anything else. This is fine. Just keep working daily and it will then manifest as a belief.

Q:

Hey John, I write in and ask questions all the time! I just really reasonate with your perspective, and as I read your book, A Vision of Power and Glory, I related to your path! I am passionate about creating, and have managed to create some amazing things, but I am still learning and trying to piece some parts of the puzzle together. One question I do have is, what are your thoughts on the position that joy is the creative energy, as they say in LOA. From my perspective, when untying the cords I created in my life (hard work!), I was not in a joyful spot, but still continually created synchronocity and magic. Were the things happening to help me keep moving created by my subconscious? Also, is everything that happens to us a direct reflection of our inner being? Am I dictating everything? On some level, I feel something outside myself at times, pulling the strings, like I have guardian angels, helping me do the work I know I have needed to do.

A:

There are many factors that influence our life. Our thoughts and beliefs are probably the most important factors, and the ones that we have direct control over, but many dynamics are in play. Our subconscious plays a part, but then our thoughts and beliefs influence our subconscious, so here too we play a role. But to say we are "directing everything" would be naïve and deny the mysterious unknown parts of ourselves and the universe. You mention angels, and all the major religions teach the existence of angels. However, what exactly they are is another matter. There is every possibility that the angels are aspects of ourselves that exist on a spiritual dimension beyond our normal consciousness. Could they be playing a part in our lives? Of course. All things exist as possibiliites. You can work with any system or set of beliefs that resonate with you as true.

Q:

Hi John, what are your thoughts on the connection between faith and the subconscious mind? I have entered this phase in my learning. Are they interconnected?

A:

Many people use the word "faith" when referring to their religious beliefs, and if this is what you're referring to, my answer would be that Mind Power works with all religious beliefs. However, I think you are referring to the aspect of believing something with absolute certainty. Faith is incredibly powerful, and the subconscious definitely picks up on this vibration when you are resonating with it, and then responds accordingly. When you vibrate with faith, and act upon that faith in a meaningful way daily with creative actions, there is absolutely nothing you cannot achieve.

Q:

Dear John. Thank you for Mind Power. My question: I know some of what you say about following your passion and right now I am working on abundance, but what if the problem is that a person has absolutely no talent at all? It is not that one doesn't believe in one's talent; the problem is that the person was born without talent. Without talent the only thing that the person can do is unskilled labour, which usually does not lead to economic abundance. I am not talking about skills which can be acquired and learned; I am talking about talent, that elusive and difficult to define spark that some people are born with and which they can develop, for example by taking classes. But if you were born without talent, then no amount of classes or training will give that to you; the only way to have it is to be born with it. What can people who were born with no talent possibly do to ever have economic abundance?

A:

I don't think I have ever met a person who didn't have some talent for something. Yes, some people are more gifted than others, but that is only natural. Each of us is different. The key is to find something that "feels right," something you enjoy. Now if someone is mentally handicapped that is another matter, but assuming you have your full mental faculties, you will find your calling if you trust your passion and follow it. Maybe you'll have to take some courses to develop this talent, but that is the way it is done. You speak of having economic abundance; there are very clear steps to achieving this and I have outlined these in The Money Seminar CD available on this site. One of the steps is to find your passion and follow it wherever it leads you. Often people who seem to have no talent are simply in fields that are unsuited for them. If they trusted themselves and followed their passion, a new reality would unveil itself to them.

Q:

My question is reated to general Mind Power. Let's say my goal is to be more confident, creative and motivated at work. So I go about my affirmations and subconscious exercises and reach my goal. Would I need to keep repeating the exercises to mantain my success, or can I now move on to new goals?

A:

Once you are demonstrating the situation or circumstances that you have been projecting, you do not need to maintain it; you can move on to other goals. What you should do, however, is to add these new abilities to your acknowledging list, which will add energy to them. There is an old adage that says, "Nothing succeeds like success." Each of your successes adds to your vibration and builds momentum. Congratulations on your past success and keep up your good work.

Q:

Hi John, please can you elaborate on taking action in the Mind Power process. Does an individual have to always act positively, or be positive and then use inspired action when opportunities, people and events present themselves through synchronicity? Thank you for a great website!

A:

An excellent question and a point I like to emphasis again and again in my seminars. You think using the Mind Power method, and then you act daily to make it happen. This acting part is something that is often omitted by Mind Power students, believing their wishes will magically happen just by thinking about it. You must act and act daily to make it happen. Synchronicity will bring you opportunities to act and you should act when they preent themselves, but don't just rely on synchronicity. Act even when synchronicity is not apparent. It is the combination of daily Mind Power exercises and daily creative action that brings our successes.

Q:

Hi John, I keep on having these thoughts that something terrible is going to happen to me or somebody close to me. Is it just because I have a general fear of losing somebody close to me, especially because I have a son, or is it because my cousin advised me that she had a dream where I was in a horrible accident? That is when these thoughts started. Is it all in the mind?

A:

Two points: First, dreams are usually messages about the person who dreams them. If you examine this topic on this website you will learn this, so it is unlikely that this is something that will happen to you. Having said that, if you fear this happening, the original suggestion from this person could indeed by self-fulfilling. Secondly, fear is a very powerful force and is Mind Power in reverse. You should never allow fear to take hold within you. There is a simple remedy for this fear. Use affirmations and visualisations to counter the fear every time you find yourself feeling it. Picture yourself safe and living a long, successful, fun life. Fear only has power over you if you allow it to. It has no power on its own. Practice these Mind Power techniques daily and fear will have no power or place in your life.
