Q
Hi John, I attended one of your courses in Johannesburg about 8 years ago, and have used Mind Power techniques ever since - thank you! My question is: I have 2 different businesses and would like to achieve certain goals within each of them. Can I use Mind Power techniques for both goals during the same period (i.e., one session in the morning and one at night), or should I wait to achieve the goals in one business and then focus on the next one? Thanks so much.
A
There is a maxim in Mind Power that says you crawl before you walk and you walk before you run. The point being that trying to achieve too many things at once is usually a mistake. Master the basics of Mind Power first, familiarize yourself with how it works, then you can do more. Having said that, if you have attended my course in person or taken it through the Home Study Program, you have all the tools you need to work the system. You have obviously had success in this system, so you can choose goals for each of your businesses and work on them. One will not interfere with the other, nor will you overload yourself, providing you keep your exercises to a maximum of one hour per day. Usually I advise doing 20 to 30 minutes a day, but there is nothing stopping you from increasing this, provided you commit to practicing daily. One suggestion would be to add goals that are applicable to both sets of businesses, whereby your effort is doubly rewarded. For example, you could visualize yourself being tremendously successful, or affirm, "I always attract the right people into my life," or "I have lots of clients and opportunities." These would reflect well upon both businesses. So choose images and goals that are applicable to both businesses, as well as specific goals that are applicable to each. Have fun and be tremendously successful in both.
Q
Hi John, Love your new website. Keep up the great work! I hope all is well. Firstly, I would like to wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous New Year in 2009. May it continue to bring you many great blessings. A couple of years ago (if memory serves me correctly), I read on your previous website that you were writing a book specifically on the subject of the subconscious mind. Is this the case, and if so, when do you think it might become available?
A
I am writing a new book. I have been working on it for six months now and the most extraordinary thing is happening. It is leading me in directions I had not anticipated, taking on a life of its own. I thought it was going to be an advanced Mind Power book incorporating all my new material, but it is turning out to be more encompassing. It is a book about the mind, body, soul and subconscious, and how all these aspects work together within us. Very exciting, and viewers of this website and those who subscribe to the free newsletter will get an advanced look at some of its contents. It is scheduled to be a fall '09 release and I will keep you all informed as it progresses. I love working on new work and this new material is radically different, as well as immensely practical and applicable to our lives. Can't wait for you all to see it.
Q
I am in tenth standard. Can you provide me with some tips on how to work better on it? Can I get 90% in my SSC exam with your help?
A
Whatever the mind can conceive of and believe in, it can achieve. You can get 90% on your SSC exam by practicing Mind Power and studying. Notice I am adding the second part - studying. There is sometimes a misconception that Mind Power is a magic wand that miraculously allows you to achieve any goal without working for it. Mind Power is a tool, and a very powerful tool, but it must be accompanied with appropriate action. Spend time going through this website and practice the techniques that you learn. Set up and follow a daily Mind Power Program and you will achieve the results you desire.
Q
Hi, I have just found your book and LOVE it. I have more and more realized the power of my thoughts and love the idea of fire sparks, most go out but some create a warming, or dangerous, fire! I have been doing Byron Katie & Abraham work for some months, along with brain entrainment meditation. I have a very active mind and find focusing on anything for longer than a couple of breaths very hard - it drives me crazy but I am persisting! Would it work as well to write the Mind Power programme? i.e., I write for five minutes visualizing my goal, another five minutes affirming my goal etc. I look forward to a reply.
A
We all have active minds and that is why the study and practice of Mind Power is so valuable. There are many different ways of working with Mind Power, and each person finds a method that is most suitable for them. There are dozens of excellent techniques outlined in detail in my books, the Mind Power Home Study Program and this website. Avail yourself to all of these resources. Writing what you want helps to focus the mind, and as a result is effective. If you wish to write your affirmation rather than repeat it verbally, that is fine. However, the visualization and seeding techniques will be most effective by doing them in the prescribed way. But... and this is important to realize... EVERYTHING you do helps if it directs your mind to the outcomes you desire. Remember Law #1: Thoughts are real forces.
Q
Sometimes when I repeat my affirmations my voice will be saying them but my mind will be wandering. There is often a pattern. If I am affirming wealth, I will something think of relationshhips, and if I affirm relationships, I think about wealth. I think it says something about me and having my wires crossed, but do the spoken affirmations still sink in?
A
Affirmations work whether you are consciously thinking about what you are saying or not. The subconscious mind naturally picks up the message and acts upon it. Having said that, if you are noticing that your mind wanders consistently to different topics, you might want to change your technique a little. Perhaps after each affirmation make a conscious decision to see an image of what you are affirming, then when you do, affirm again, and so on. This will further impress into your consciousness what you want to imprint. Most importantly, have fun doing the exercises and be consistent doing them.
Q
In your opinion what is the purpose of life? Could you explain in simple words, please.
A
I find that asking myself the question, "What is the purpose of life?" makes me feel too heavy and serious. So too with, "What is the meaning of life?" It all seems so metaphysical. So I prefer to ask myself, "What are the possibilities of life?" Here I open up in a creative way and get excited. Each of us is unique, with unique gifts and possibilities for living a fun and interesting life. For me the most important thing is to be authentic in expressing the miracle of who and what I am. Trusting your passion and following it wherever it leads is the way to a successful life. Do good to others. Follow your passion. Have a fun and interesting life. Take the purpose out of life and it all makes sense. If there is indeed a purpose or meaning in life, following these principles will surely lead you in the right direction.
Q
Hi John, Thank you so much for your willingness and passion to share your discoveries and knowledge with the world. Your books are life changing; I talk about them everywhere I go. I have been practicing Mind Power techniques for just over a month now and can see change in my attitude towards a lot of things. More importantly, I have a more optmistic outlook on life and my future. What I'd like to know is, how do I ask my consciousness the questions I have about certain aspects of my life, for example, if a guy that I've known for a while is the one I've asked for from the universe? I've tried to do what you suggest in the book, but I don't think I'm getting it right. Also, when I visualise, I can see pictures of the things I want and, even though I do see my body and feel excited about the thought of getting them, I don't see my face. Is this ok?
A
Ah... matters of the heart, always the most challenging. Be clear on what you want from a relationship and then manifest it using the Mind Power techniques. One never knows when the right person will arrive nor how, but if you are clear on what you want, it will come. Also you must have done your own inner work and be complete and happy within yourself in order to attract a high-quality person. Nothing repels a desired person more than a needy person. So the first priority is to be whole, to complete yourself prior to manifesting your partner. When I attracted my wife into my life I was very clear on what wanted. I called it the three S's. I wanted someone who was smart, sexy and spiritual. These were the core expectations on which I would not compromise; the rest I left up to the universe. Little did I realize I would get five S's within six months of starting my Mind Power program. I got smart, sexy and spiritual, as well as sophisticated and her name is Sylvia.
