Q:
Can you please tell how to choose my real profession. I'm 32; all my life I've been working as a nurse. But now I have the feeling that I should work at something different, but I cannot find what it is and how to get there? Can you help me?
A:
Trust your feelings. Feelings are messages from the body. They are part of Body Wisdom (see past Article). When we trust and act upon our feelings, they lead us in interesting directions, toward a fun and interesting life - and all lives should be fun and interesting. You must follow your passion and let it lead you. And this feeling is the first step in leading you. What do you enjoy doing? What activities bring you joy? You don't have to think, "What will be my next career?" You only have to honour yourself by bringing fun and joy into your life and living passionately. One step leads to another, and when you follow your passion you will be led to opportunities that will reward you. Trust yourself and trust life. But the "feeling" that "something different" is out there is an excellent sign.
Q:
Hi John. Thank you for your books, CDs and your Mind Power course. Your methods and techniques have been the secret to my success. I have achieved a large portion of my goals, personally, professionally and financially. I have rocketed to the top of my industry and now I find myself daydreaming of relaxing but still enjoying the financial rewards that I have achieved. I am very grateful for all my successes, but the thought of having countless more days of alarm clocks, bad traffic, deadlines, pressures and late nights is not part of my plan. I want a life where I am the one in charge, where I decide what to do, when to do it, etc. The reason for all of this is the birth of my 1st child, who is now 18 months young. I want to spend quantity and quality time with her, and still give her the life that the money I earn can buy. Any thoughts on how I can achieve this new life I desire? Thank you.
A:
You achieve this by using the same techniques that you used to gain the successes you already have. Only this time do it without working so hard. I have a saying, "Work smart, not hard." I believe hard work is greatly overestimated. While one must work to achieve success, many people assume that you have to work hard, putting in long hours and giving up quality of life in order to be truly successful. I disagree with this view and I have been tremendously successful by following a different mantra, and you know what it is: Work smart not hard. Since you have proven to yourself that Mind Power works, and you have seen the success of your past efforts, it really shouldn't be that difficult for you to achieve your goals in a way that gives you lots of time for your family and other activities. In fact I would insist on it. Why not? You are the one that makes the choice.
Q:
I am very much impressed with your "Mind Power Visualization techniques." I felt very happy and delighted after reading some of the articles on your website. Really, every article is awesome and motivating for people to come out of the difficulties in their day-to-day life.
A:
Thank you for sharing these thoughts. I am very aware that not everyone will have an opportunity to hear me speak live, as my speaking schedule is now greatly reduced. However, I love teaching and writing and producing new material, much of which is available on this website in book and CD form. But even beyond this, I am aware that I have a following in hundreds of countries who rely on this website for their understanding of Mind Power, and whenever I can I take this opportunity of touching people's lives as well.
Q:
I am sometimes facing a negative thinking problem. Please show me how to come out of same.
A:
Negative thinking usually happens when we are feeling stressed or sick, or when we are otherwise going through a difficult time in our life. Everyone has periods when this happens. Fortunately, Mind Power has excellent techniques for removing negatives from the mind. Search the Mind Power technique section of this website and read about them, then practice the methods for eliminating negatives. They will help you immensely.
Q:
I continuously have this battle of positive affirmations and visualizations clashing with negative thoughts and feelings.
A:
Negative thoughts and feelings are the result of a mind that is not disciplined in the methods of Mind Power. Of course we all have times when we feel overwhelmed or down, but these should be the exception, not our normal way of thinking. The one thing you can always control is the type of thoughts you are thinking. Your battle between positive affirmations and visualizations and negative thoughts and feelings is there because you have not been practicing this system daily. A daily practice of even twenty minutes will eventually have your positive thoughts dominating, and the battle will be over. Your battle is only at the beginning stages, while your mind adjusts to this new way of thinking.
Q:
Hi John, I recently attended one of your seminars, presented by Robin Banks. Can one practice Mind Power on someone else’s behalf? Can I practice Mind Power by saying the following affirmations: “ My husband earns x amount per month,” or, “My daughter has lots of friends,” or, "My daughter is very clever,” etc?
A:
Our thoughts have effects on others since we are all connected in the web of reality, but normally these thoughts have a minimal effect. However, when the people you are projecting for are close family members and the projections are done with love and emotion, the effect becomes magnified. Now these affirmations will never override contrary thoughts that these individuals might have, but if they are at all in harmony with their thoughts and wishes, they will most definitely have an effect.
