Q
Hi John, I wonder if you could help me out. Just got your CDs and I think they are great. I was trying to get my head around the affirmations part. Is it a case of simply affirming what you'd like more times than you have stored in the subconcious-sort of like a set of scales-in order to start acting or achieving what you want? I would be grateful if you could explain this to me so I can understand it. Thanks.
A
All the Mind Power techniques are designed to have an influence on the subconscious. The reason for this is that it is the subconscious that has direct influence on the etheric web of reality that is behind all matter. So if your subconscious has imprints that are negative and limiting, and most of us have these if we have not practiced Mind Power regularly, then the techniques start to make new imprints. Now the old imprints do not disappear, but as you continue with the exercises the new imprints begin to take dominance and eventually will be the major source of your power. Your analogy of a "scale" is a good one. If your major beliefs are limiting, you experience this limitation in your life and this will not change till your beliefs change. Beliefs do not change overnight and you will have to be patient to allow the new imprints to take hold and form the foundation of your thinking, but this will happen. The more you do your affirmations and visualizations and other Mind Power techniques, the more this new energy builds within your subconscious. You will know when it is fully entrenched because you will see a change in your circumstances. The system works very well but you must be diligent in doing your exercises. I hope this answers your question.
Q
Hi John, Thanks for a great book!!! Just one question... I am a very "emotional-intact" person, I "feel" and "vibe" everything in my life, sometimes too much. In being like this, I tend to overdo things and that has its drawbacks. With Mind Power I started overdoing the affirmations and feelings to the extent that I am overwhelmed and tired, and then I get anxious and stressed out. Is it okay if I do my affirmations DURING the day, lots of times and not at a specific time or length of time. This is just so much more relaxing for me and then I dont worry so much. It's like putting it out THERE..if you get my drift.
A
Your question is an important question, not just for you but for all our viewers. Let me be very clear. Mind Power techniques are very flexible and will fit your lifestyle and personal preferences. There are a few basic rules such as doing the exercises regularly, but precisely how and when you do them is up to you. I acknowledge you for being observant and noticing that you were "overdoing the affirmations and feeling exhausted and overwhelmed." Noticing this, you were right to question whether you should be doing Mind Power exercises like this. Never continue any exercise that has the result of making you feel "stressed" or "anxious". If this is happening, something you are doing is wrong. You have another suggestion that is "so much more relaxing" for you. Great, do it this way. You will get much better results in finding the ways that feel right for you than in trying to do it to the so called right way. Trust yourself and your instinct. And you are right, doing it this way is like "putting it out there." Well done!
Q
My question: I'm wondering if you can offer some specific advice on how to access the subconscious. I feel that I am very, very stuck in certain areas of my life, repeating certain poverty patterns over and over again. I suspect I need to address this through my subconscious but am uncertain as how to do this. What do you think of methods such as hypnosis and EMDR?
A
I'm not sure what EMDR is and I don't use hypnosis, but will share with you how we reach the subconscious the Mind Power way. The first thing to be aware of is that the subconscious is constantly monitoring and being effected by your daily thoughts. So if your daily thoughts are of lack and limitation and how difficult it is to get ahead, then your subconscious will act upon these daily messages that it is receiving. The second thing to understand about the subconscious is that it cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is imagined. So by using Mind Power techniques you can program your mind to expect abundance by repeating these sorts of messages and images over and over again. To change poverty patterns you develop a prosperity consciousness. I would highly recommend The Money Seminar, a 2-CD live seminar which gives explicit techniques on achieving financial abundance.
Q
Great site!! How does taking action on your beliefs and relaxing interplay? Because on one hand you think using the Mind Power method, then you act daily to make it happen; on the other hand you relax and let it happen naturally. So I'm not sure if I should relax or take action? Thanks!
A
This is an excellent question. Let me explain: When you are doing your Mind Power exercises you do "relax and let it happen naturally". You don't have to force it to happen. Your thoughts, which are real forces, will naturally attract the people and opportunities that match the images that you are projecting inside. But action is also required. Mind power creates the opportunities, but you have to act on them. It is naive to believe that just by doing the Mind Power exercises all you want in life just magically happens to you. Money begins appearing in your mailbox. People stop you on the street and ask you to join their business. It doesn't happen like that. You must do Mind Power and take action. Let your Mind Power lead you to do the things that must be done. You work both ways and that is what will make you a success.
Q
Hello, John! I have read your books, and have noticed that, in your books, you do not write about death. What do you think about death?
A
I'm a big fan of death. I just don't want it to come too soon. Death is a part of life and comes with the package. No one gets out of here alive. If we're lucky we'll live a nice long life. My grandfather was 107 when he died. Some people die in their twenties and thirties. Sometimes children die. You never know when or how you will die and this keeps us honest. What do I mean, honest? I mean death becomes an ally when you realize how real it is. It is an ally because it forces you to live life in an impeccable way, with dignity and honour. Why? Because maybe this is your last day. If we keep the thought of death as a real possibility, without becoming overly preoccupied with it, just knowing that it is real and ever present, it makes each day much more full and alive with possibility. To live life fully and to be appreciative of this experience of life, it helps to acknowledge death as part of our fate.
