Q
In the Mind Power Program you recommend focusing for 5 minutes on a statement or affirmations. Sometimes you recommend 3 minutes but mostly 5. Is there less power in focussing for 3 minutes? Can we design our program based on 3 minutes? How imperative is the 5 minutes? In other words what is the least amount of time that is still very effective?
A
Every person designs a system that works for them. Each of us is different and works with Mind Power in a slightly different way. I suggest using 5 minutes for each exercise because it is a short enough time to fit into our schedules and long enough to be effective. Having said that 3 minutes can be equally effective. The most important thing to remember is to do your exercises daily. It is the daily repetition that is most important. Even one minute a day done daily can and will have an effect. Less than that is probably not worth the effort. So choose the amount of time you wish to devote to your program but do it daily and you will see the results.
Q
After having read your book I have been practicing vizualization for about 2 months, without missing a day. I concentrate on a happy family life, and about my husband. I want to make some basic changes in our relationship and I concentrate on several aspects of our life at the same time. Also on my children and my successful career in the future. All this lasts about 15-20 minutes. Is this the right way of doing this?
A
You are doing it correctly. The simplest rule to remember is what you focus on you attract, whether this is positive or negative. Thoughts are real forces and have an effect on our vibration and as a result on the matrix web which creates our reality. Keep doing these exercises and what you focus on will be attracted to you.
Q
Hi John! I admired your book and would like to get acquainted with you personally. When will be your next seminar and where?
A
I will be posting my 2010 schedule shortly. The only seminar booked for the remainder of this year is "The Subconscious & Beyond" in Vancouver October 24 & 25. See the What's New section on the home page for details.
Q
Sir, I am a 21-year-old man from India. I bought your CD course titled the Mind Power Home Study Program. It was excellent, but I still have a couple of confusions. 1. Can I work on more than one goal at a time? and 2. While writing my goals on paper, should I write the sentences like I have already achieved them (like: I am a millionaire), or in the future tense (like:I want to be a millionaire)?
A
1) Yes, you can work on more than one goal at a time but don't try to do too much all at once, especially in the beginning stages of mastering this science. We have a maxim in Mind Power that says, "You crawl before you walk and you walk before you run." In other words start with just one or two things that you want to manifest using this system, so you can gain proficiency with it. Once you are comfortable with the system and have it working well for you, you can take on more goals to manifest. 2) When writing your goals on paper write them in a way that represents what you want to happen. You want to have a time element to it as well. For example, if you wish to be a millionaire you might write your goal like this: "I will be a millionaire by the time I turn 30." You must be realistic in your estimation. You must also do the necessary work to make it happen, over and above practicing your Mind Power. You must develop talents and skills and come up with innovative ideas. Set your goals in this way and harness your subconscious and let it lead you to do what needs to be done.
Q
Hi John, I've been following your methods now (off and on I must admit) for 20 years and what I have found important is that MIND POWER does have to be practiced and basically lived. One example you have mentioned previously is repetition. In the September article you gave advice to someone regarding not giving up after trying it for only a short time. I believe that 100%. If an exercise programme is undertaken for say a marathon run, after a few weeks one's fitness improves. I remember years ago you mentioned that there is a "delayed reaction" which takes place before a "dream" canactually manifest. It's a crying shame that one would give up at the slightest sign of either defeat or not seeing a result straight away, where had they persevered the "magnificent payoff" could be just around the corner. Motto: Practice Practice Practice.

It sounds like you attended one of my seminars in Australia. In a 32-year career I have had the great joy of touring and teaching in many different countries. Your words say it all so I am sharing them with my web audience. Well done!
Q
Thank you so much for the Mind Power book and website, John. I am on my third or fourth reading of your book. I have two questions... First, during my relaxed state I do a series of visualizations, seeding, and affirmations. I am wondering if it is best to say the affirmations aloud or only in my mind? Second, I am working on making a career move and am wondering if you have any suggestions for specific visualizations for being a successful writer? I would appreciate any feedback you could offer regarding these questions. And again, thank you.
A
You can say affirmations either silently to yourself or aloud. Obviously in a crowded situation silently is best, as you don't draw attention to yourself. However, when you are alone it can be very powerful to do them out loud, as you get the benefit of not just saying them but hearing them as well. But both systems work. The most important aspect of being a writer is to write daily and to be disciplined. I would include this in your visualization. Also trust your creativity and your connection with your subconscious. Your subconscious will supply you with many of your original ideas.

I have read a lot of books about positive thinking, about the power of the mind, but sincerely, when I heard your CD I was impressed. I do my exersises; they have become a part of my daily life and thanks to you I have a wonderful life. I am successful as a wife, mother, a friend, and I do have success in my career. Thank you.
