Monthly Mind Power Questions & Answers

February/March 2010

Q

Could you kindly differentiate the following: 1. The brain and the conscious and subconscious mind. Where is the mind? Is it within the brain? 2. The soul and the spirit. Is the soul located near to the heart? Thanks & I wish you a rewarding 2010.

A

The brain is the motherboard of our consciousness. Our brain is located in our skull. While the brain is the hardwiring of consciousness that allows us to perceive our world, our consciousness is much more than just neurons and synapses. Where it is located is not an easy question to answer. There is every possibility that it exists throughout the entire universe. My new book explores the holographic possibilities of consciousness. The soul and spirit transcend our time-space reality and are not located anywhere in the body, though you are correct to associate the heart and the soul. One of the ways we can awaken our soul's potential is to awaken our heart and feel our oneness with everything. I could go on quite a bit here, but I think this is what you are looking for. I also wish you a very rewarding 2010.

Q

By nature I am undisciplined. You say that "without disciplining both your thoughts and actions, you are unlikely to achieve success, happiness or personal fulfillment." I agree with what you say, but I am needing guidance as to how to become disciplined. Where do I start? Which of your products would help me in this area?

A

No one is a disciplined person by nature. Discipline comes from practice and will. We use our willpower to execute daily activities that propel us towards success. We do this because we understand that without discipline we are unlikely to achieve our goals. One of the techniques you can use to help with discipline is to visualize yourself as a disciplined person seeing yourself doing your daily Mind Power exercises and getting things done in your life. A commitment to doing the exercises daily develops discipline. Demand this of yourself.

I have no products that deal specifically with the topic of discipline, however, the affirmation-visualization CDs require that you commit twelve minutes every day for 60 days. By using these CDs you will develop discipline, and of course the Mind Power Home Study Program is a daily program that also develops discipline.

Q

Candace Pert states (in her 2nd book) that "the body is the subconscious mind." Is she referring to the same subconscious mind that you talk about in your books? Personally, I was under the impression the subconscious is both local and non-local. I enjoy your monthly articles and Q&As, and am also looking forward to your new book.

A

I am aware of Pert's work and much of it is excellent. The title of the book you mentioned is catchy and certainly caught my attention when I first read it several years ago. Much of what happens to us is stored in our bodies, and from that perspective you could say that the subconscious and the body work together, but most certainly the subconscious is much more than just the body's memories.

Q

John, I love the website and the succinct info you have placed on it. I am an avid practitioner of the law of attraction and am very impressed in the manner in which you present your materials. Your approach reminds me of Dr. Joseph Murphy's matter of fact method of teaching.

My question is do you have any plans for any live seminars in Ireland in 2010?

A

No seminars are planned in Ireland at this point. A notice to all the readers: Join the newsletter and you will always receive advanced notice of when I am coming to your city. I do not tour nearly as much as I did in the past, but I still am doing live seminars and will be happy to inform you if I'm coming your way.
