Many people have attempted to use the Law of Assumption but have not seen the results they were hoping for. The reason for this is that they were not using the technique correctly.

In this blog post, I will walk you through the correct method for using the Law of Assumption so that you can manifest anything you desire.

Let’s dive in.

What Is the Law of Assumption?

The Law of Assumption states that whatever you assume as true becomes your reality. It implies you can manifest anything by thinking and feeling as if you already had it.

The law was introduced by author Neville Goddard (1905-1972).

Not that you’re trying to manifest it.

The means to do this is by having your mind feeling those desires, wishes and aspirations.

The Law of Assumption only works when your mind feels the desires, wishes and aspirations. Thinking thoughts is not enough, you need to feel as if you’re actually living the desire for it to actually become reality.

You need to live and feel as if the desire has already manifested. Doing this will magnify the energy of your manifestation and project outwards the frequencies that you need in order to attract the circumstances and synchronicities needed in order for your vision to become reality.

This occurs through the contemplation you complete every time when you are envisioning your desired vision.

The Law of Assumption, though powerful, is easy to understand and practice.

Here’s how to use the Law of Assumption to manifest:

3 steps to manifest with the law of assumption

Step 1: Define What You Want

Reflect on what life holds for you. Take time to reflect on your desires, passions, and dreams. Gain clarity on what matters to you and what brings you happiness and fulfillment. Visualize your ideal life to figure out what your goals and priorities are.

Do you want to become financially secure? Do you want to manifest a loving relationship? Do you want to get that promotion?

Narrow it down and make it specific. The more specific, the more real and tangible it is going to feel, which is an important part of the Law of Assumption.

And make sure you choose a goal with depth and purpose. A goal without meaning has less energy and will be more difficult to manifest using the Law of Assumption. Choose something that will ignite your passion and excitement, even in times of adversity or uncertainty.

Step 2: Visualize Yourself Already Having It

The next step is to immerse yourself in that experience of already having the things you want and emulate the thoughts and feelings associated with them.

The best way to do so is to use visualizations. Visualizations help us connect energetically with the things we want and attract them into our lives through the energy web of all reality.

Everything is energy, including our thoughts. And the universe responds to the energy we vibrate at any given point in time by matching it with things—objects, circumstances, people—that have a similar frequency.

So if I think and feel success, I vibrate with success energy and act accordingly. This is why visualizations are so powerful. They help us tune our subconscious to the things that we want in life.

If you’re new to visualizations, ask yourself the following questions one by one, then close your eyes and imagine the answer as if you were painting a picture with your mind. Imagine experiencing the scene with your own eyes.

  1. Why do I want it?
  2. How will it change my life?
  3. What do I want from this goal?
  4. How does this serve me?
  5. How will it make me feel?

Step 3: Assume and Acknowledge Success

Once you’ve defined what you want and realized what it’d be like to have it, the Law of Assumption states you should now live and behave as if you already had it. You assume that you already are or have everything you desire.

Now, how are you supposed to behave like a millionaire when you’re living paycheck to paycheck?

Teaching Mind Power, I’ve found that acknowledging is a technique that’s easier for students to grasp and practice.

Acknowledging is a simple technique to create and amplify the energy of our thoughts. Acknowledging means actively searching for evidence in your present life that supports the new feelings, thoughts, and beliefs that come with having reached your goal.

For example, if your goal is to make a lot of money, look for areas of abundance in your life. Don’t limit the term abundance to financial wealth. Notice the abundance of time you have the next time you’re waiting for someone. Or perhaps there’s an abundance of trees in your neighborhood. It doesn’t matter what the object is—the energy that results from focusing on it is.

Like “assuming”, acknowledging attracts circumstances and events with similar energetic frequencies to the things you focus on by sending signals to the energy web of all reality.

Example: How to Use the Law of Assumption in Real-Life

Here, I will go through each step to show you how you can work with the Law of Assumption.

[Desire: manifest the relationship of your dreams]

Step 1: What do I want?

  • Well, I’d like to have kids one day and have a loving relationship
  • I’d like to buy a big home with my family so we can spend the rest of our lives there together
  • I’d like to be able to spend my life with my loved ones and family

Step 2: What would it be like to have it?

  • I will feel happier having a strong connection with someone in my life
  • I will be more selfless ** [always talk in the positive and not the negative]
  • I will have the opportunity to create a new generation of lineage in my family history
  • I will feel loved, appreciated and cherished
  • Sharing and spending my time with someone I love will bring me joy
  • I feel excited thinking about the many incredible things I will be able to do with my partner

Step 3: Assume and acknowledge success

To manifest a loving relationship:

  • “My partner IS tall, tender and thoughtful. It IS a soul partnership; it IS a healthy relationship” (remember to manifest as if the desire was already yours)
  • I need to put myself out there so I can meet people
  • I will go out with my friends more often to practice speaking with people because you never know who you may meet
  • I will go on dates, which gets me closer to attracting the circumstances and synchronicities that I need in order to meet my life partner

Law of Assumption: Does It Really Work?

Long answer short, the Law of Attraction works. But there are two key elements to get right. Without them, it won’t work.

1. Persistence

The Law of Assumption works but it isn’t immediate. You have to do it right and practice consistently. And this is where most people fall through and miss out on the abundance the law can bring to their lives.

Your mind is what I call the Great Trickster. It will try to convince you every day to procrastinate on your goals.

Think of your mind like a dog. When you begin training a dog, you need to put in the time to teach it appropriate home-life behaviours. Persistence is vital. The dog will never learn unless you are persistent and consistent with its training.

The same applies to your mind. You need to be persistent; that’s the only way the Law of Assumption can work. Consistent practice is what makes that law effective and permanent.

Set aside time every single day to think thoughts and feelings that align with your vision. I teach people how to do this in my 6-week Mind Power training program.

2. Action

Your thoughts are energy but they get diffused if you don’t turn the thoughts into actions.

In other words, without action, there can be no results.

So when you practice the Law of Assumption, you need to put yourself out there in order to expose yourself to the circumstances and synchronicities that are needed for your desires to manifest into reality.

And when you interact with the real world, remember to assume your goals have already been realized.

You’ll also want to create habits that support your goals when you are working with the Law of Assumption. Science has proven that in order to create a habit in your life, it takes roughly 90 days for a habit to become ingrained into the subconscious.

Accountability can help to fast-track your results. This is one of the many benefits you’ll get from my 90-day Mind Power program. It’s structured specifically to teach you how to formulate lasting habits and harness the inner powers of your mind. You can click here to learn more.

Law of Assumption vs Law of Attraction

What is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction states that whatever you focus your energy on will come back to you. The Law of Attraction uses the energy you emit to magnetize the circumstances and synchronicities you need in order to manifest your desire.

How Do Both Laws Differ?

The main difference between the two laws is that the Law of Attraction states that positive thoughts bring upon positive experiences and negative thoughts bring on negative experiences while the Law of Assumption states you can manifest whatever you want by feeling and believing that you already have it.

Which Law is Better for Manifesting?

Neither. You actually need both working together. This is how.

You always begin working with the Law of Assumption. The Law of Assumption asks you to focus your energy on your thoughts as your consciousness creates reality.

Once you’re done with the Law of Assumption, you will naturally transition to working with the Law of Attraction. This happens because the thoughts you think all emit energy. The Law of Attraction will kick in as you will be emitting the energy and attracting to you the circumstances and synchronicities that you need in order to manifest your given desire.

The assumptions you make will naturally lead to feelings in your body that inevitably will attract the situations and people you need in order to manifest your desire.

So, if you really think about it: The Law of Attraction isn’t actually all too helpful unless you’ve gone through the Law of Assumption and you took time to contemplate your thoughts and what you want.
