There’s a simple truth behind every lasting transformation: raise your vibration, and you change your life. This is the foundation of Mind Power, and it begins with understanding vibration.
Everything is energy, including your thoughts, emotions, words, and actions. Each moment, you’re either raising your vibration or lowering it.
The good news is: this is not random. You can choose the energy you radiate.
If you’ve ever wondered how to raise your vibration, you’re in the right place. In this post, I’ll walk you through ten simple practices—virtues, really—that raise your vibration naturally. They’ve changed my life, and they’ll change yours too.
Let’s begin.

1. Practice Compassion Through Acts of Kindness
Practice acts of love and kindness towards others. Notice I say the word “acts” of love and kindness, for while one must have a concept of what compassion means before practicing it, it is in the daily “acts” of compassion that the path is trodden.
In my book, The Practice of Happiness, one of the chapters is “Loving Kindness.” Let me quote an excerpt from this chapter:
“When we help others, we are actually helping ourselves. The joy and happiness that love and compassion for others bring are one of the best-kept secrets of humanity. The benefits are so enormous and consistent that you have to wonder why we don’t practice such kindness more often. Helping others always makes us feel good.
Think back to times when you’ve given of yourself completely. Maybe you nursed a sick friend back to health, helped in a soup kitchen, coached the school football team, or volunteered to raise money for some charity. How did it make you feel? And why did it make you feel so good? What is there in loving and helping one another that is so nurturing to our souls? Perhaps in doing so, we are rediscovering our connectedness to one another. A hidden part of us thrills with joy when we reach out to one another in simple everyday ways.”
2. Harness the Power of Gratitude
The vibration of gratitude transforms lives. All change in our lives begins from within, and when we make a conscious decision to be grateful for what we already have, even if what we have is very little, we set in motion vibrations that attract more to us.
This is the magic of gratitude. It attracts more of whatever we give thanks for.
If we give thanks for our health, greater health will come to us. If we take the time to give thanks for the ordinary moments of joy and happiness, even more of those moments will appear.
Gratitude not only multiplies what we praise, but it also increases the blessings in other areas of our lives. This is the truth and wonder that each person awakens to through the consistent practice of gratitude.
But you cannot appreciate the power of gratitude until you have practiced it.
If you desire to achieve your goals, then awaken to the truth that gratitude for what you already have, however limited, will help you achieve them. It will give you much-needed energy, which in turn you can use in whatever way you see fit.
The trick is to practice appreciating and giving thanks for even the smallest pleasures and joys.

3. Lift Others Up with Praise and Appreciation
Praise is a form of energy that benefits both the one praising and the one being praised. When you praise, you give but also receive energy.
Notice how you feel the next time you praise someone—one of your children, a friend, or a coworker.
When you express sincere praise, be aware of how you feel both while saying it and as the person receives your praise. You will notice a surge of energy within you. You will feel uplifted.
You can praise others, but also yourself.
Walking the path of praise means you drop your neurotic criticism of yourself because you see that it weakens you, and instead, you look for sincere and honest ways to acknowledge yourself. When you do this, it raises your vibration.
Praise anything and everything that you find appropriate, praise beauty of all kinds wherever you find it. The possibilities are literally infinite.
4. Embrace Generosity in Every Aspect of Life
Generosity can take many forms. You can be generous with your time, your attitudes, your self-acceptance, your goals, as well as with your money.
Being generous with your attitude means allowing others to have different points of view, even ones contrary to your own. Appreciating others for who they are opens us to see other possibilities that we would never see or acknowledge by being closed-minded.
Be generous with your time. Take time to listen to people and share with them.
As the old saying goes, “In your haste to make a living, don’t forget to make a life.” If you are generous with your time and attitude and stop your busyness to simply appreciate people, your relationships will grow.
Sometimes a five-minute conversation is all it takes.
Be generous when you decide on your goals. You should always have at least one goal, at every point in your life, where the achievement is for others. By pursuing this goal, as well as your personal goals, you are demonstrating generosity.
5. Choose Forgiveness
Forgiveness releases toxic energy that has been residing within you. This energy, once released, can be channeled into more productive areas. It will seem as if a huge weight has been taken off your shoulders.
You forgive by letting go of “your upset.” You let go of it because it does you no good. Every time you think of the person who has upset you, you get upset. You lose energy. The upset that you feel is in you and does not affect them in the slightest.
So the smartest way to deal with the upset is to forgive and move on. Often people hurt others when they themselves are hurt. You have no idea what is going on inside them or what they are going through.
Every time you think of the person who hurt you, wish them well. Why not? You can choose to react anyway you choose. Do not indulge in any negative thoughts; instead, have compassion for them.
“But they don’t deserve my forgiveness,” you might say. Perhaps this is true. But whether they do or not is not the issue—you deserve it. You deserve to be free of this annoyance, to not have it upset you and bring you down every single time you think about it.
When you realize that the benefit of forgiveness is for the person forgiving, not for the person being forgiven, it becomes much easier to forgive.
6. Cultivate Creativity
Life is ever-changing, evolving, always becoming something new. Everything is becoming something else—your family, your career, your friendships, and your personal growth.
The only constant in life is constant change.
Creativity is called for in all of life’s activities if we are to be successful. It takes creativity to parent children, run a business, plan a vacation, or throw a dinner party. We normally don’t think of these activities as creative, but they are.
Creativity brings with it excitement, hope, new possibilities, exhilaration, feelings of inner peace, trust, and joy.
Every one of us is creative, and we can all live our lives in a creative way. We ought to reclaim the creativity we were born with and embraced as children. To welcome it back. To become artists of life. For the greatest art of all is living a successful life.
But reclaiming our creative selves takes trust and courage. It means leaving behind your fears and feelings of inadequacy. The good news is you can make it happen if you have the will to make it happen.
7. Strengthen Your Faith in Uncertainty
Faith is not just belief. It’s a force, an energy vibration that can transform your life.
When you resonate with faith, you tap into something greater than yourself. You align with possibility, with potential, with a knowing that life is unfolding as it should.
While doubt and fear drain your energy, faith amplifies it. It strengthens, lifts, and carries you forward when nothing else can.
But faith isn’t given to you. It’s something you practice and build over time. You cultivate it through experience, through trust, through choosing it again and again over doubt.
If faith doesn’t come naturally to you, start small. Have faith in a good outcome today. In a solution appearing. In your own strength. And feel how your energy shifts when you lean into faith instead of fear.
8. Express Love
Love is a force. It uplifts, heals, and transforms, not just you, but everything around you. When you express love, you raise your vibration. You shift the energy you live in and move through the world with.
Love also dissolves fear. It silences the noise of the mind. Negative thoughts lose their grip. Emotions like anger, resentment, and frustration begin to fade. You see people differently. You see yourself differently.
But love isn’t soft or sentimental. It’s not waiting, hoping, or expecting. It’s choosing, moment by moment, to respond with kindness, patience, and understanding. It’s forgiving, not because someone deserves it—but because you deserve peace.
And when you choose love again and again, life opens up. Things flow. People show up. Opportunities appear.
This isn’t magic. It’s Mind Power. You raise your vibration, and life responds to your signal.
Let love be your practice. Let it shape how you think, how you speak, how you act. Speak with love. Think with love. Give and receive with love.
9. Invite More Happiness and Joy Into Your Life
The practice of joy and happiness allows us to appreciate who we are and what we have, without needing anything more. With this appreciation comes awareness, and with awareness comes even more joy and happiness.
Forget about having a happy life, or even a happy month or week. Trying to have a happy life is far too great a task to even comprehend. Besides, no life is one hundred percent happy. Every life has its share of pain, struggle, failure, heartache, sickness, confusion, and uncertainty.
And yet, every life also contains joy, pleasure, love, friendship, beauty, success, health, adventure, creativity, free will, choices, and much more.
So practice noticing and appreciating the countless moments of joy and happiness that occur each day. You will be surprised at how many you can experience daily. Most moments need nothing else but themselves. They are complete and whole in what they are.
(Of course, it means we have to give up our pettiness and the feeling that we are hard done by.)
And when you are feeling unhappy at any point in your day, notice whether this unhappiness is about others or yourself. What you will find is that almost all of your unhappiness is self-centered.
Feelings do not flow from the conditions in your life. Your reaction to these conditions is what keeps you unhappy.
To know this is to know a great secret. You are the source of your happiness and unhappiness.
10. Stay Awake to Life’s Possibilities
Wakefulness is a heightened awareness that comes with practice. One makes a commitment to be awake to life and not spend all our time in the ‘thinking mind.’ When we are awake in this way, we can be attentive to our needs and the needs of others, and we know instantly when we are out of balance.
Wakefulness allows us to see without judgment or criticism, and to act instinctively and spontaneously upon that which needs to be done in any given moment. It breaks through the illusions and pettiness that the mind creates for us and allows us to relax into what is happening so we can experience it fully.
It is not slackness, but an alertness that sees and feels directly without the need to label with thinking what we are seeing and feeling.
To live like this aligns us with the greater rhythms of life, raises our vibration, and gives us deep insights.
When we practice wakefulness, our lives open up and we get to know and see ourselves without illusion. We can no longer hide behind excuses and pretend that life is unkind to us for no reason. We see that life is always responding to our thoughts and actions.
This gives us confidence, assurance, and a method for living our lives.
It also provides inner peace, for life suddenly makes sense. Not in a logical way, for life transcends the narrow limits of logic, but in a deeper, mystical way.
