Low vibrational activities are habits of thought and behavior that lower our energetic frequency. They keep us drained, small, and caught in scarcity. And most of us indulge in them daily without ever noticing.

Here is the good news: dropping them requires nothing more than a decision.

What follows are five of these habits, and what happens to our energy when we let each one go.

list of low vibrational activities that drain your energy

1. Indulging in pettiness

A wonderful gift to ourselves and those whom we are close to is to make a decision to drop as much pettiness from our lives as we possibly can. This new strategy for living life can create a radical change in our energy.

The vibration of pettiness keeps us small, limited, and caught in a scarcity consciousness. It shows that we have no generosity for either ourselves or others, that we let the little things trip us up.

Let’s drop this nonsense and be magnanimous, loving, giving, and positive about ourselves and others.

Why? Because it looks good on us, makes us feel better, and by doing it, we change our vibration.

Make the decision today to just drop pettiness as a flawed thinking habit that doesn’t work for us, never worked for us, and was a mistake right from the beginning.

2. Criticizing yourself and others

Next, let’s give up criticism, perhaps the most common low vibrational habit of all.

By stalking energy, we discover that when we are critical of ourselves or others, we feel weakened and drained afterwards.

Do not think of criticism as good or bad from a moral, social or spiritual point of view, though there are those aspects too. Simply notice from an energetic perspective if it weakens or strengthens your energy.

Stalking ourselves, it becomes clear that when we indulge in critical thinking, we lose energy. This is valuable to know.

There is also another aspect of criticism that we must also be aware of.

When we are criticizing another person, going over their faults and limitations, the subconscious mind—which cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is imagined—registers this criticism within. And if criticizing people becomes a habit, before long your subconscious begins criticizing you. It will turn back on you.

3. Feeling self-pity (or self-importance)

Self-pity and self-importance are petty indulgences that signify the mind being overly preoccupied with itself, albeit in distinct ways. This too, we discover, weakens us.

There is nothing to be overly proud or puffed-up about, no matter how powerful, successful, rich, or good-looking we are, and nothing to be ashamed or discouraged about, no matter how meager and miserable our present situation.

Everything changes, becomes something else, and it’s all just vibrating energy, no more or less.

So let’s become authentic and real, rather than be captured by these projected images we have of ourselves.

4. Holding grudges and old resentments

What grudges might we be holding that we can drop?

  • Can we be brave enough, bold enough to heal old wounds with family or friends—start fresh, so to speak?
  • Can we let go of resentments, missed opportunities, past mistakes?
  • Can we drop whatever we are holding against ourselves or others, just let go and face our life in new ways?

Of course we can if we really want to, but what’s in it for us, you might ask?

A new, more authentic life, and a lot happier one too, is what awaits us.

5. Complaining about our circumstances

Finally, let’s give up complaining.

Complaining is not the same as criticism. Criticism finds fault with people; complaining argues with life itself.

And stalking our energy, we discover the same truth here: after complaining, we feel no lighter, no stronger, no closer to a solution. We feel drained. Has complaining ever changed a single circumstance? Yet how much energy have we given to it?

There is a deeper mechanism at work as well. Every word we speak is an affirmation, and the subconscious mind is always listening. When we complain, we are describing, over and over, in vivid detail, the life we do not want. And the subconscious registers all of it faithfully.

What we repeat, we make permanent.

So let’s notice what is, and either accept it or act on it. Let’s save our words for describing the life we want.

How low vibrational activities affect your energy

Every thought and act of ours carries an energetic vibration, and when we act from authenticity, living up to our highest ideals, we gain real and noticeable benefits from this practice.

Our vibration will always shift to match our thoughts, beliefs, and actions. And as our vibration shifts, so too does our entire relationship with life. This is how energy works in the universe. We are not separate and independent from our life; we are always and continuously interacting with it.

Everything we do and think counts.

How to raise your vibration instead

Shift your energy, and you shift your life. This is Mind Power 101.

Giving up on these habits one at a time makes us a different person, and in direct proportion to our ability to do this, good and positive things happen to us. Try it; you will be surprised at what changes are possible with such little effort.

Dropping these low-vibrational activities is an incredible gift to oneself and a wonderful way to shift energy. And once you’ve cleared these habits out, there’s a whole practice for raising your vibration deliberately.

Your Next Step: Train Your Subconscious Mind Daily

Recognizing these habits is only the first step. The deeper work happens in your subconscious mind, where they live and repeat themselves.

Lasting change comes from working with your mind every day, for a few minutes, using proven exercises that replace the old patterns with ones that raise your vibration.

That is precisely what the Mind Power program was designed to do. Begin with Lesson One for free.
